Alpha 4.6 brings new Levski crisis missions, the LAMP visual system, economic events with live commodity prices, and the Aurora Mk I Gold Standard refresh.

Patch Overview

Alpha 4.6 “Lifeline for Levski” went LIVE on January 28, 2026. The patch centers on Nyx content — specifically a system-wide crisis centered on Levski that drives new mission content — alongside technical improvements and the first live economic event.

Levski Crisis Missions

Levski is in trouble. The independent settlement’s supply lines have been disrupted, and players are called to help through several mission types:

Mission Types

MissionDescription
Cargo DeliveryHaul critical supplies to Levski from Stanton or Pyro
Ship CombatDefend supply convoys from hostile forces
Station EscortProtect Levski station during vulnerable resupply windows
Derelict RecoveryRecover lost shipments from derelict vessels
Courier CombatFight through hostile forces to deliver priority communications

The Levski crisis missions are structured as a persistent narrative arc — not a time-limited event but an ongoing situation that evolves.

Clearing the Air Event

A separate event running concurrently with the Levski crisis:

  • Courier combat missions with higher-than-normal rewards
  • Derelict recovery operations in contested areas
  • Delivery contracts with time pressure and bonus payouts

Price Surge Economic Event

The most interesting experiment in 4.6: live supply and demand fluctuations.

  • Commodity prices at select vendors change dynamically based on player activity
  • Scarcity drives prices up — oversupply drives them down
  • Players who identify price surges early can profit significantly
  • Creates organic economic gameplay rather than static trade routes

This is a foundational step toward a truly dynamic economy. For CDYN’s Logistics division, monitoring price data becomes a genuine competitive advantage.

LAMP (Light Amplification)

LAMP is a visual enhancement for ship canopies in low-light conditions:

  • Enhances visibility through cockpit glass in dark environments
  • Particularly useful in Nyx’s darker regions and asteroid belts
  • Toggleable per player preference

A small but meaningful quality-of-life improvement for pilots who operate in low-light conditions regularly.

Aurora Mk I Gold Standard

The Aurora Mk I received its Gold Standard pass, bringing it up to current visual and gameplay standards:

  • Updated exterior and interior models
  • Improved component access
  • Better damage states
  • Modernized flight model tuning

The Aurora is Star Citizen’s most common starter ship. Bringing it to Gold Standard ensures new players’ first experience meets current quality expectations.

VR Updates

Continued improvements to the experimental VR support introduced in 4.5:

  • Performance optimizations
  • Improved interaction handling
  • Bug fixes for VR-specific issues

CDYN Impact

Logistics: The Levski crisis missions are designed for us. Multi-system supply runs with combat risk and premium pay. Coordinate convoy operations through Discord.

Security: Convoy escort and station defense missions mean steady work for combat pilots. Pair with Logistics for combined ops.

All Divisions: The Price Surge mechanic rewards information sharing. Report commodity price anomalies to the org — collective intelligence beats individual scouting.

Lifeline for Levski is a solid content patch that demonstrates CIG’s commitment to narrative-driven missions and economic depth. The verse continues to evolve.
